ECITB Training
ECITB & NES AIM Academy to Deliver Project Management Training

NES AIM Academy has spent the previous 2 years working closely with ECITB in delivering Association for Project Management (APM) project management training and has adopted the ECITB materials into our offerings. All events, whilst maintaining official Project Management qualification status, are also heavily tailored towards the Engineering and Construction Industry. This helps put the theory into context for adopting and implementing the tools and techniques back in workplace, as well as gaining an officially recognised Project Management qualification.
NES AIM Academy is a high-quality training, consultancy and recruitment organisation, specialising in the construction and engineering industry. We offer guaranteed training solutions via experienced practitioners, and deliver engaging, pragmatic events that will culminate in tangible results within the workplace. Through our partnership with the ECITB you can now book places on any of our ECITB Project Management courses and, following a short application process, will get funding for both the course place, and the examination*.
Courses offered under this scheme are as follows:
APM Introductory CertificateThis knowledge based course accredited by the APM, has been developed to provide a complete and practical introduction to project management delivered within the context of an engineering construction setting, by providing the basic principles to projects in a structured way. The course is suitable for individuals new to project management and the engineering construction industry; those seeking formal accreditation of their knowledge; and for those who seek a wider understanding of the whole project management process – the language and the structure of a successful project, including planning, implementing and managing of the project. The course aims to increase delegates awareness of their roles as active members of a project team or support function, enabling them the knowledge and confidence to make a positive contribution to any project environment. Delegates are able to sit the one hour examination at the end of the course for the qualification.
APMP This industry contextualised knowledge based course, accredited by the APM, has been developed to improve project management practice in the workplace by strengthening the ability of individuals to participate in individual assignments through to large capital engineering and construction projects. The course is aimed at both experienced and new project managers who wish to demonstrate their knowledge of project management at a foundation level. APMP covers 37 knowledge areas from the APM Body of Knowledge; areas considered fundamental to the professional management of projects. Some level of project management experience is recommended for this course. Delegates are able to sit a 3 hour written essay-based paper for the APMP qualification.
Introduction to Project ControlsThis course has been developed to provide an introduction to project control methodology and to working within project control in the engineering construction industry; although the course is easily transferable to other industries. The course is suitable to new entrants to the project environment who may have been working in another capacity, engineers who carry out project functions and new graduates. Prior knowledge is not required since the course will deal with the entire subject starting from ‘Project Control – the definition’.*For further information regarding the funding and application process, please speak to your ECITB Account Manager, who will be happy to assist.
