Description & Objectives

This one day workshop is designed to introduce to delegates the principles of planning, managing and facilitating a workshop to elicit information, gain consensus and arrive at informed decisions. It is designed to focus on the roles, structure and running of workshops in environments where Business Change is the norm. It will be of particular benefit to Line Managers new to their role, team leaders and people working in a project environment.

Attendance on this workshop will enable delegates to:

  • Prepare effectively for the workshop event
  • Design a framework within which to run the workshop
  • Facilitate the workshop process
  • Manage the workshop in terms of group dynamics and individual needs
  • Identify recognised tools and techniques and assess their appropriateness

At the end of the workshop delegates will be able to:

  • Apply their knowledge in a practical way to run workshops within a business environment
  • Use the tools and techniques effectively
  • Take a professional view of the facilitation process 

Structure

The course will consist of trainer led sessions, group exercises and individual exercises to consolidate and confirm knowledge. Each session will have clearly defined learning objectives and delegates will be encouraged to fill in their own action plan to enable them to put their skills into practice back at the workplace. There will be opportunity for delegates to discuss the topics covered and relate them to their own experiences.
