This workshop introduces delegates to the links between generic Project Management at a fundamental level and the principles, themes and processes of PRINCE2. The implications of using PRINCE2 pragmatically are explored to enable delegates to assess how they may blend PRINCE2 into their organisations to successfully manage and control projects.

Project board members, project managers, team leaders, project stakeholders, project support and people working towards or within a PRINCE2 project environment will benefit from attending this workshop. The workshop deals with topics comprehensively and includes both the Foundation and Practitioner level examinations. This workshop effectively combines the Foundation and Practitioner workshops and prepares delegates to sit the PRINCE2 Foundation and Practitioner examinations.

Pre-requisites
All delegates must be familiar with working in a project environment.

Objectives
Attendance on this workshop will enable delegates to:

  • Understand the principles, themes, processes, products and techniques of PRINCE2
  • Consider the practical application issues of using and tailoring aspects of the PRINCE2 method
  • Assess the implications and benefits of introducing PRINCE2
  • Develop knowledge to a level that enables success in the PRINCE2 examinations
  • Have the confidence and competence to practice the method in a live project environment.

Format
The workshop will be delivered using a mixture of trainer-led discussion using slides, sample examination questions and case study as a vehicle for confirming understanding and practical application of the elements of the PRINCE2 method. The slides and discussion will be supplemented by exercises to consolidate the knowledge gained. On each evening there will be homework - delegates are asked to answer sample examination questions (approximately 1 hour per evening minimum).

Delegates are provided with a copy of the PRINCE2 manual and sit the PRINCE2 Foundation examination in the afternoon of the third day and the Practitioner examination at the end of the workshop.

Pre-course Work
Delegates are required to complete the pre-course questionnaire provided, to ensure familiarity with the PRINCE2 Manual prior to attending the course.
