Putting the theory in to practice
Many individuals and organisations alike are discovering that sometimes training just isn't enough. NES AIM Academy offers a range of services that provide all the assistance you need to achieve your full potential and ROI through implementing your best practice techniques back in the workplace.
Needs analysis
It is essential to establish exactly where the organisation needs to be in terms of people, processes and skills to achieve its goals. This vision needs to be clearly and completely communicated to everyone involved in moving towards that position.
The first step is to agree the position the organisation needs to reach on order to achieve its goals; the second is to establish an accurate picture of the current capability of the organisation in terms of people, processes and skills, and the final step is to identify which changes and skills training would allow the gap between the current capabilities and required position to be bridged.
It is extremely helpful to make use of the consultancy services of a specialist with experience in training and recruitment when formulating plans to fill the gap. This brings a level of independence and a breadth of experience in different environments to bear.
NES AIM Academy has experience in analysis of staff involved in programmes, projects and IT Service Management, helping you to ensure you have the right people doing the right job. We carry out technical interviews and capability assessments to establish depth of theoretical knowledge and practical experience.
As part of this service, NES AIM Academy can develop a role skill analysis matrix , which can then be used alongside its training needs analysis service .
This service uses experienced programme, project and service delivery Consultant Trainers, with hands-on experience in their field of expertise. We can also offer a skilled facilitation service to help drive out maximum benefits from needs definition workshops, involving the organisation's key stakeholders.
Facilitation
Facilitation workshops are an excellent means of information gathering. Why not gather together your key members of staff and, with facilitation via NES AIM Academy , establish where you are, where you want to be, and how to get there. Our Consultant Trainer can then provide a briefing document, summarising the outcomes and providing guidance for your next steps.
Mentoring
On the job teaching or coaching, or simply acting as a 'sounding board' for ideas provides a level of confidence for those in a new position or following a period of training. This is an ideal way to allow new skills to develop and become embedded at minimum risk. In many respects, mentoring is a form of professional counselling.
Managers become proficient in a much shorter time than by simply exercising new skills in an isolated manner. NES AIM Academy offers a mentoring service starting during training and implementation of change to bring the experience and training capabilities of its consultants into your organisation in the most effective manner.
Well-mentored staff will then be able to continue the mentoring process internally for others, genuinely adding value to the initial investment. This has proved extremely effective in preparing 'Champions for Change' - internal mentors trained by NES AIM Academy .
Consultancy
Implementing best practice is an organisation change issue not just a training programme. Training is a key part but only if it underpins the implementation of a new approach. We have extensive experience helping our clients achieve a lasting cultural change - designing their processes; tailoring a programme of training and education for the whole organisation; and supporting the implementation. Contact us to find out how we can support your organisation.
Consultation
One of our experienced Consultant Trainers can visit you to discuss your needs in detail and help you to evaluate the next steps your organisation needs to take.

A NES AIM Academy health check gives an objective snapshot of the current status of your project or programme, without the influence of internal politics or day-to-day interruptions. Health checks throughout the life of a project or programme will highlight any issues and will also encourage the team to consistently work to best practice standards.

Evaluation
Return on Investment (ROI)
At the end of each event, all delegates will be required to complete a course appraisal form and all forms will be reviewed, both by the Lead Consultant and the NES AIM Academy Training Manager to see if there are any immediate issues or opportunities for improvement in relation to the course materials, trainer delivery, venue.
While this is a measure of the delegates' experience on the course, we would also seek to develop (with the client) an approach to assessing the longer-term impact that the training has on each delegate. This could be based around the completion of an impact assessment form to gauge: whether delegates have had opportunity to put the training into practice; the degree to which they absorbed and retained the learning points on the course; and whether they have found that the course made a positive impact, giving them practical skills and insight.
Kirkpatrick is one of the preferred evaluation models used to demonstrate a ROI for our clients.

4 - Results
This stage measures ROI and is often the most difficult type of evaluation. NES AIM Academy would look to measure ROI through reviewing productivity increase / revenue growth, against the cost of the training. This evaluation can only be achieved in consultation with the client, as information from such areas as finance will be required.
The design of this approach and the mechanics of issuing and collecting the information requests needs to be carefully planned and managed between NES AIM Academy and the client, but we would recommend that the review of this information is part of a quarterly programme review meeting attended by the NES AIM Academy Training Manager and Lead Consultant and the key client personnel.
The responses received will provide vital evidence of the strengths and weaknesses of the approach, which will drive any necessary enhancements

Review of objectives
Change is a way of life. We need to adapt to maintain current position.
As part of evaluating the benefits gained from changes and associated training and recruitment, it may become evident that a further need to adapt exists.
This is simply part of the ongoing cycle. If this is the case NES AIM Academy are ideally positioned to assist in defining ongoing needs, building on the successes achieved so far.
